Ok, I’m off to a great start! I did say I’d post on Sundays and I intend to but—well, I came home from Disneyland on Saturday, and somehow Sunday came and went with unpacking, laundry and zero posts. Oops. But here we are, back for week 8, and some more Levitical law. For context about this study, and important info, if you haven’t already read it, check out my explanatory post.
This week, the readings are below, plus I’ll continue to add a thread for Lent discussions during the season. I’m also creating a prayer request thread, just because I can.
Monday, February 19, Day 50: Leviticus 19-21
Tuesday, February 20, Day 51: Leviticus 22-23
Wednesday, February 21, Day 52: Leviticus 24-25
Thursday, February 22, Day 53: Leviticus 26-27
Friday, February 23, Day 54: Numbers 1-2
Saturday, February 24, Day 55: Numbers 3-4
Sunday, February 25, Day 56: Numbers 5-6
I’m posting on a Monday again this week, in spite of my intentions, and the study also started on a Monday, so for the ease of keeping weeks in line with TBR (that’s The Bible Recap), the readings will continue be presented in a Monday-Sunday format, but I will post on Sundays going forward (theoretically) so you can post when you’re ready, even if you’re in an earlier timezone (since I’m on Pacific time in California.)
You can click each day above to find the discussion for each day in the comments.
In closing
Leviticus has prompted some really fun discussion, in spite of (or maybe because of) the tough subject matter. We wrap that up and start Numbers this week, picking up the story of the Israelites again, after Exodus. I highly recommend you watch this short summary of Numbers from the Bible Project before we make the switch. These videos really do a great job of contextualizing what we’re about to read.
I’m praying for you, and for more of the fun and fruitful discussions this week. Pray for me, too. Please and thank you.
Keep it loving, and don’t hesitate to ask tough questions. That’s what we’re doing here.
P.S.
I know there are several of us doing different reading programs right now. While I’m going to use the TBR timeline, others are welcome to discuss the OT with us, even if you’re in a different place. You can start a new comment thread under this post, or hop on another thread if you see something relevant you want to chime in with.
