26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
I'm so glad you wrote this and shared this, and I'm genuinely excited for you to write and share more (on any and all topics of faith.)
And I love the closing prayer. I'm going to copy and paste that into my notes. Did you write it or do you have a good resource for prayers like this??? Thank you again, Elizabeth!
I wrote that prayer but I just shared a few in the prayer and fasting threads that are from the 2019 Book of Common Prayer. I have a few more I’ve written over time that I’ll share too if they’re wanted.
Thanks for your encouragement. I’m grappling with the fear of saying something incorrect or harmful, but also so zealous these days I can’t keep my mouth shut!
I love that you're so zealous and it's overriding your fear (I relate!). But please don't worry about saying something incorrect or harmful! Though I understand where that's coming frmo (I'm so afraid to lead people astray!) Your knowledge is so vast and your heart is so clear -- you can always edit and amend what you say, but it would be such a loss not to have all your thoughts and wisdom :-)
This is a very good point, as you’ve shown us in many ways, we can change our minds or thinking.
Had lunch with a pastor I love today, and told her about what is going on here. She isn’t my pastor but one I have filled in for a couple times when she goes on vacation, which I think is her way of nudging me toward (gestures wildly) all of this.
She was all big toothy smiles, and she’s a very staid and reserved person. It was lovely. She is praying for us. And she said almost exactly what you did about my fears of making a mistake.
I just want to call out how much wisdom you have, as a newish Jesus Situationer. God has done good work in you, lady.
I loved this so much Elizabeth! And the prayer is absolutely beautiful. Looking forward to reading more of what you have to say ❤️
So kind, thank you! I am thinking of writing a bit about not knowing what to pray.
Please do bc I don’t have words just feelings 😬 maybe this what poetry is for lol
Poetry can be prayer and so can your feelings!
Romans 8:26-28 is my favorite for this reason:
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
Love your writing and your voice! Excellent explanations! I look forward to your future posts!

To be clear I mean that you have wisdom way beyond your Christian years. Time ain’t no thang for Jesus. 💕
